The Clean Economy Bridge US Elections Briefing: Outlook for US (sub)national climate policy & impacts on transatlantic climate cooperation
The outcome of the 2024 US elections will have an immense impact on both subnational and national climate policymaking in the US as well as on the prospects for current and future transatlantic policy cooperation.
As part of the Aspen Institute Germany’s Road to Election 2024 series, this public briefing began with a presentation from Jacob Corvidae from the Rocky Mountain Institute, who provided a deep dive into key state-level election results and pieces of legislation that will have significant impacts on climate and energy policy in the US. The discussion was then continued by an analysis on the implications of the 2024 elections on transatlantic and international cooperation with a special view on climate, energy and resource policy based on a presentation by Mike Williams, Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress.
