Renewables for the Data Center Era: Meeting AI-Driven Demand Growth in the PJM Interconnection
Text (optional)
By Lydia Estreed, Evan Park, Chisom Ogbogu, and Evelyn Fahlen
This paper explores whether renewable energy systems can reliably meet data centersʼ demanding power requirements within PJMʼs existing operational and market framework. This research seeks to identify effective strategies for the deployment and dispatch of renewables to meet AI-driven demand growth while maintaining system reliability and advancing decarbonization objectives.
This report is a result of The Clean Economy Bridge Research Program, a collaborative initiative by Student Energy and adelphi. The program aimed to promote transatlantic cooperation and support the next generation of energy leaders by providing them with research experience, mentorship, and opportunities for transatlantic collaboration.
